The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has announced that it will hold county delegates’ elections in Homabay County on February 13, marking a new round of grassroots leadership contests within the party.
In a notice issued by the party’s National Elections Coordinating Committee (NECC), ODM confirmed that the elections will bring together eligible branch delegates to elect officials to various county offices.
“The National Elections Coordinating Committee (NECC) will conduct County Delegates elections for Homabay County on Friday, 13th February 2026,” the statement read.
Only duly recognised branch delegates will be allowed to vote, while aspirants seeking elective positions must submit applications and pay prescribed fees through the party’s official payment channel using paybill number 985900.
The NECC outlined a tiered fee structure depending on the position sought:
Sh1,000 for non-executive county office positions
Sh2,500 for special interest seats, including women, youth, and disability representatives
Sh5,000 for executive county office positions, excluding the chairperson
Sh10,000 for candidates seeking the top county leadership slot of chairperson
The announcement reflects ODM’s efforts to strengthen county-level structures ahead of future political activities, ensuring local offices are filled through a structured, delegate-based process.
The statement, dated February 6, 2026, was signed by Emily Awitta in her capacity as NECC chairperson. By providing a clear timetable and fee structure, the party aims to give delegates and aspirants ample time to prepare while standardising the election process across positions.
The upcoming Homabay elections are expected to shape ODM’s county leadership and influence grassroots mobilisation in one of the party’s key strongholds.
