Breaking News: Kindiki Reportedly Reveals His Next Move if Ruto Picks Another Running Mate in 2027

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has reportedly revealed what he would do if President William Ruto decides to pick another politician as his running mate ahead of the 2027 General Election.

According to claims circulating on social media, Kindiki would not abandon President Ruto or withdraw his support for his administration if he were left out of the 2027 running-mate position.

The reports claim that the Deputy President would continue supporting President Ruto while preparing for his own political ambitions ahead of the 2027 elections.

The alleged position has attracted attention because of the growing political debate over who will deputise President Ruto in the next General Election. Different political leaders and groups have continued to express interest in the influential position.

However, there is an important distinction between the social-media claims and Kindiki's publicly reported statements. In July 2026, Kindiki himself said that he would remain President Ruto's running mate in the 2027 election and dismissed those seeking the position.

The United Democratic Alliance has also previously reaffirmed that Kindiki remains its running mate for the 2027 election.

The debate nonetheless continues to attract attention as political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections take shape. For now, the claim that Kindiki has already outlined a plan to pursue the presidency in 2027 if dropped as Ruto's running mate should be treated as an unverified social-media report unless a direct statement from the Deputy President or another credible source emerges.

The political situation remains fluid, and any decision on President Ruto's eventual running mate could significantly reshape discussions within the Kenya Kwanza camp ahead of the 2027 polls.
