A heartbreaking incident unfolded on November 28 in Queensland, Australia, when six-year-old Magnus Landon Kayde suffered a severe asthma attack while out shopping with his mother.

Despite the quick response of paramedics, Magnus was pronounced dead after being rushed to a nearby hospital.

Magnus’ mother, Casey Morris, shared the devastating news on a GoFundMe page, expressing the profound loss felt by their family.

“My son tragically passed at the Urangan shopping centre. It is a devastating loss not only to my daughters and me but to everyone who loved him,” she wrote.

Casey described Magnus as a child who faced many health challenges but remained full of life and humor. On the day of his passing, he had caught a toad and named it Jeff, delighting everyone around him with his curiosity and charm.

“Magnus was very unwell, but he was the most hilarious little boy. That day he was really starting to come out of his shell,” she added.

The grieving mother also expressed gratitude to those who tried to help save Magnus and offered comfort during the traumatic event.

“I will forever be grateful to everyone who helped my little boy. Magnus will be missed immensely, and my heart is breaking every day. I just want my baby back,” she said.

Eyewitnesses at the Urangan Central shopping center described the scene as deeply upsetting.

One recalled, “The mother was so distraught. [It was] so, so sad, and especially at this time of year.”

Another added, “It was horrible. I wasn't prepared to see a little boy in that situation, but I went to help.”

The Urangan Shopping Center and the Queensland Ambulance Service have not released official statements regarding the incident.
