Kenyans on social media have been left debating after a video allegedly showing a Nairobi woman making serious claims about an alleged plot targeting Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna began circulating online.
In the video, the woman allegedly claims that a politician associated with the Linda Mwananchi movement offered her KSh50,000 to make accusations of rape against Sifuna in an attempt to damage his reputation.
According to the woman’s alleged account, she accepted the money but later decided to speak out instead of carrying out what she claims she had been asked to do.
She is further heard allegedly saying that she could not proceed with making what she described as false accusations against the Nairobi Senator.
The claims have generated discussion online, particularly because Sifuna has become a prominent figure within Linda Mwananchi and was recently endorsed by leaders of the movement as its preferred presidential candidate for the 2027 General Election.
However, the allegations contained in the circulating video have not been independently verified, and no credible source has so far been identified confirming that any politician actually offered the alleged KSh50,000 payment or instructed the woman to accuse Sifuna of rape.
The identity of the woman and the politician she appears to be referring to have also not been independently established from the information currently available.
The development comes at a time when Sifuna and Linda Mwananchi are attracting increased political attention ahead of the 2027 General Election. Recent reports have documented the movement's growing political activities and Sifuna's role within it.
As the video continues circulating, Kenyans are now waiting to see whether the woman will provide evidence to support her claims and whether Senator Sifuna or the politician allegedly implicated will respond.
