Uhuru Claims He Made Ruto President in 2022, Says Without Him Ruto Wouldn’t Be at State House

Rumours circulating online claim that former President Uhuru Kenyatta has made fresh remarks concerning President William Ruto and the events surrounding the 2022 presidential election.

The alleged remarks suggest that Kenyatta claimed he played a major role in Ruto’s rise to the presidency and that, without his contribution, Ruto would not have reached State House.

The remarks have not been independently verified, and readers should treat the claims as rumours until a reliable source or recording establishes the context.

The claim has attracted attention because the relationship between the two leaders changed significantly before the 2022 election.

At the time, Kenyatta publicly backed Raila Odinga rather than Ruto, while Ruto campaigned against the political establishment and eventually won the August 9, 2022 election.

Official results recorded Ruto with 7,176,141 votes (50.49%) against Odinga’s 6,942,930 (48.85%), and the Supreme Court later upheld Ruto’s victory.

As political discussions surrounding the 2027 election continue, any alleged comments from Kenyatta about the 2022 contest are likely to generate considerable public interest.

However, the specific statement in the headline should not be presented as an established fact unless the original video or a credible report confirms that Kenyatta actually made the remarks.

Readers are therefore encouraged to watch the purported video and consider its full context before drawing conclusions.
